Differences between Humayun tomb and Taj Mahal




Humayun tomb and Taj Mahal, both are representative of glory of Mughal architecture in sub-continent. Humayun tomb was commissioned by his wife and designed by Persian architects in the 16th century. It was the first garden tomb in India. On the other hand, Taj Mehal was commissioned by Shah Jahan for his wife. It was designed by Iranian architect in the 17th century.

·        In Humayun tomb, the tomb in centre and garden all around it but in Taj Mahal building is constructed on the side of the garden.

·        Gardens in Humayun tomb two types of division, the main pathway and secondary pathway but gardens in Taj Mehal have more secondary
      and tercery type of divisions.


                                                           

                      
     ·        Humayun tomb doesn’t have minarets but            Taj Mahal has 4 minarets around its central           building
     ·        Humayun tomb has marble cladding on                selective spaces but on the other hand, 
            Taj Mahal is an entire marble building.
