Differences between Humayun tomb and Taj Mahal

Humayun tomb and Taj Mahal, both are representative of glory of Mughal architecture in sub-continent. Humayun tomb was commissioned by his wife and designed by Persian architects in the 16^th century. It was the first garden tomb in India. On the other hand, Taj Mehal was commissioned by Shah Jahan for his wife. It was designed by Iranian architect in the 17^th century.

·        In Humayun tomb, the tomb in centre and garden all around it but in Taj Mahal building is constructed on the side of the garden.

·        Gardens in Humayun tomb two types of division, the main pathway and secondary pathway but gardens in Taj Mehal have more secondary

      and tercery type of divisions.

                                                           

                      

     ·        Humayun tomb doesn’t have minarets but            Taj Mahal has 4 minarets around its central           building

     ·        Humayun tomb has marble cladding on                selective spaces but on the other hand, 
            Taj Mahal is an entire marble building.
