Chindi, Qareen or Hamzad

According to Navajo religion, ‘Chindi’ is a ghost which leaves the human body with their last breath. It is the combination of all bad energies present in the dead person. Navajo believes that contact with Chindi causes illness and death.

 One can interact Chindi by calling his name that is the reason, Navajo destroy all the belonging of the dead and don’t call their name to avoid contact with Chindi. If they don’t follow this tradition Chindi will cause illness in them. They try to make sure that the person takes his last breath outdoor so that Chindi get space to disappear. If the last breath is in a closed room then the Chindi will make that building abundant.

In Islam, Chindi concept is also present. It is called Qareen or Hamzad in Islam. It is said that it is a Jin which lives and grow up with human. It is bad energy of the person which make them attracted toward evil deeds and disobey orders of God. It is also believed that Qareen can be turned into a positive energy as prophet Muhammad said that the Qareen of him had accepted Islam and now it tells him to do good deeds’.
Qareen losses its strength when one does good deeds and in this way person become superior on it. it gets its strength when we do evil deeds. Thus Qareen can be of different character but it born as Shytan.It is bounded to live inside the human body and set free when the person dies. As mostly it is made up of bad energies so it causes trouble on the earth.
People should be doing good deeds to prevent this ghost to gain strength and make them do evil deeds.
